Architectural Overdrive – Fall Session

Open to everyone!

Wednesday, October 29th, 7PM (see attached poster)

Omar Gandhi will present some of his recent projects. Earlier this year, Omar received Canada Council’s prestigious Prix de Rome award for emerging architects which provides a monetary grant to pursue architectural research. Omar’s Halifax office, Omar Gandhi Architect, believes in thoughtful, collaborative residential design and he will walk us through several homes his firm has designed in Nova Scotia.

Kevin Reid of DSRA will be giving us a virtual tour of the new LeMarchant Multi-use Building on the Dalhousie campus. The project design was a collaboration between DSRA Architecture of Halifax and the Toronto office of Zeidler Partnership. The building includes a residence for 326 students, a health services clinic, counselling services offices, a recruitment & enrolment centre and the headquarters for the Dalhousie international student services. LEED Gold was targeted during the design.

No RSVP required, just show up! As usual, attendees qualify for NSAA self-directed Continuing Education credits in the “Discussion Groups” category.

Meet in the basement classroom at the School of Architecture, Architectural Overdrive’s “clubhouse”, H18

Many thanks to Dalhousie University, School of Architecture, for arranging the meeting room use.
