Plug 1 is a home renovation/addition for a young family in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. While the purpose of the addition was to create more usable space for the growing family, the design strategy was to avoid elongating (stretching) the existing turn of the century house out to the desired length, rather, to attached a modern plug to the house. This is the kind of project architects enjoy. Respecting the old world craftsmanship while introducing new world detailing on the new portion of the house is an exciting challenge. There will be a clear divide between the two parts.
