Patel Fournier Sunroom

The sunroom addition was my first project for family. It was also the first, hopefully of many, projects executed in the suburbs – where I am from.

The room was to mesh with clarity with the existing house and deck. I wanted to use big wooden timbers and make the space as large and warm as possible. The perimeter of the room had very deep window sills for people to sit on. The middle was to house a large table under the beam.

I envisioned the space to house lots of candles, and wine drinking during the social summer months. As it turns out the space is used almost year round.
