Sophie Jinhong Rioux, an architectural intern at Omar Gandhi Architects, is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture. In recent years, she has contributed to projects ranging from high-rise residential to institutional and spent time at an urbanism office in Amsterdam. Sophie Jinhong joined the office in Toronto, where she hopes to translate compelling narratives using practical design solutions. She believes that care is fundamental to excellence in architectural practice and is eager to contribute to projects that envision a more joyful, equitable future. As an exercise in place-making, she hopes to learn: how can we envision anew our relationship with place, nature, and the built spaces we inhabit?
